Applied Statistical Analysis using R Software for Forestry Studies 2023

A workshop on " Applied Statistical Analysis using R Software for Forestry Studies 2023” was held at the Forest and Wildlife Training Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on November 15th to 17th, 2023. This workshop was co-sponsored and organized by Risk Analysis Research Center, ISM, and the Forest and Wildlife Research and Development Institute of the Forestry Administration in Cambodia. The workshop was designed to enable participants to use the statistical software "R", and to conduct a hands-on approach to dealing with various statistical analyses with data. Most of this year`s workshop participants were beginners of the “R” software and did not have any experience on using “R” software prior to this workshop. Therefore, they were introduced to the basic commands for statistical analysis and data handling in “R” on the first day. On the second day, the participants were introduced to graphics in “R”. On the third and final day, the participants were introduced to the basics of regression analysis. The workshop ended successfully with the completion ceremony, where each participant received a certificate of completion. Every participant was enthusiastic about attending the workshop and expressed interest looking forward to future workshops. The workshop ended successfully with a total of 30 participants. It was run mainly by the Institute of Forest and Wildlife Research and Development under Acting Director, Dr. Sokh Heng, as well as Mr. Kim Sobon and Ms. Lim Sopheap from Forestry Administration.
