Online Workshop in Cambodia on December 21-22, 2022

Statistical Analysis using "R" Software for forest resource management in Cambodia ~Level V~

On December 21 and 22, 2022, a workshop on "Statistical Analysis using R" was held online using Zoom meeting platform, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This workshop was co-sponsored and organized by Risk Analysis Research Center, ISM, and Institute of Forest and Wildlife Research and Development, Cambodia. Various levels of the R software coursework have been offered to beginners, through to more experienced users. However, this year`s workshop was targeted at beginners of the R software. On the first day, the participants leaned about data handling in R. All participants used their own computers to conduct data handling in R. On the second day, after reviewing the materials covered during the first day, the participants learned about graphics in R. The workshop ended successfully with the completion ceremony, where each participant received a certificate of completion. Since we had to slow down the lecture to ensure all participants were caught-up, we could not cover all the materials in the planned lecture. Many participants were enthusiastic and did not waste time asking questions. The chat tool was effectively used which made the workshop interactive, lively and fruitful. All participants expressed interest looking forward to similar events in the near future. The workshop ended successfully with a total of 43 participants. It was run mainly by the Institute of Forest and Wildlife Research and Development under Acting Director of Cambodia, Dr. Sokh Heng, as well as Mr. Kim Sobon and Ms. Lim Sopheap from Forestry Administration.
