Training Workshop Series VI: Advanced Statistical Analysis in "R" with Forestry Related Data

On December 11 and 12, 2019, the "Training Workshop Series VI: Advanced Statistical Analysis in "R" with Forestry Related Data" was held at MoU signing research Institute of Forest Inventory and Planning Institute (FIPI), Vietnam. This workshop was co-sponsored and organized by Risk Analysis Research Center, ISM, and FIPI, Vietnam. The workshop was designed to enable participants to use statistical software "R" and to conduct a hands-on approach to dealing with various statistical analyses on data. It was targeted at individuals who had used the R software before and had basic knowledge about the software. On the first day, the participants reviewed basic tasks with R, such as data handling and computing basic statistics and graphics. On the second day, the participants learned about regression models and model selection. The participants used the data set to estimate the parameters of various growth functions. Everyone was very enthusiastic about attending the workshop and expressed interest looking forward to the following year workshop. The workshop ended successfully with a total of 15 participants. It was run mainly by Dr. Nguyen Hung Dinh from FIPI, Vietnam.
